Suspect arrested in connection to Bayshore Mall armed robbery, carjacking

EUREKA, CA. – A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery and carjacking outside Bayshore Mall is in jail.

30-year old Brett Hansen is now charged with the crime which happened on September 17 of last year.

That day, Eureka police stopped a car and Hansen, the passenger, fled and ran through the mall, and out the back.

Officers say he then used a gun to threaten a woman and steal her bike.

He rode through the parking lot, then carjacked a woman driving a silver Ford Focus.

She wasn’t hurt.

Hansen was arrested February 14 for other felony charges, and now police have also linked him to the carjacking.
