Supervisor Bohn returns from Washington D.C.

Eureka., Ca (KIEM)-District 1 Supervisor Rex Bohn and six other Rural County representatives of California have returned from Washington D.C.

Their objective at the capitol, to advocate for the thirty-five rural counties that are not always considered by federal policymakers. Some state and federal mandates have a sort of “one size fits all” policy. That makes it difficult for counties like Humboldt, Mendocino, and Del Norte to be considered due to their small population, but these counties make up for fifty-four percent of California’s public lands and according to district one supervisor Rex Bohn, must be a part of the Governments budget.

Other topics discussed on the trip were the rural broadband fund and forest fire budgeting. They will revisit D.C. Six months from now.
