Valentine’s Day Burglary Suspect in Custody

McKinleyville, Ca., (KIEM)- The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a valentine’s day burglary .

Twenty two old Tyler Blaine Gingerich has been charged with burglary at a commercial storage facility in Mckinleyville.

A deputy saw a fence at the Murray Road complex had been cut, and went in to investigate.

While the burglary was thwarted by deputies, the two suspects still were able to get away.

Officials say Gingerich and his accomplice broke into about 20 storage units before fleeing, that will all now need an emergency door repair due to their actions.

Gingerich was arrested by Arcata police on February 17th on an unrelated charge, but now has admitted his role in the burglary.

The second suspect is still at-large . Gingerich faces several charges from Arcata and Eureka police and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
