Two stabbed in Eureka

EUREKA- Two people were stabbed during an apparent robbery and beating of a homeless man in Eureka.

Police say 36-year old Jessica Minasian and 42-year old Brian Bickerstaff confronted a man sleeping on a sidewalk of F Street Sunday morning.

Officers say at first, they yelled for him to leave, then Bickerstaff allegedly hit him with blunt objects. The man then took out a knife and seriously stabbed Minasian and cut Bickerstaff on the face.

Both fled with some of the man’s possessions. Minasian ran to the Humboldt Bay Fire Station 1 for help.

Bickerstaff was found a block away. Both were taken to the hospital where Minasian was cited.

After treatment, Bickerstaff was arrested and charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
