City of Eureka set to approve syringe ordinance

EUREKA., Ca (KIEM)-Eureka council is scheduled to deliberate on the city’s syringe ordinance at their upcoming meeting.

Following up from their last city council meeting, the syringe management ordinance will have its second reading before being voted on by the council. The ordinance was brought to the council last October, and if passed it will be implemented in thirty days. The overall goal is to reduce syringe litter, by putting more responsibility on those who hand out and exchange the syringes.
