Tsunami warning siren tests to be conducted along the north coast

EUREKA., Ca (KIEM)- Along the North Coast, several tsunami warning siren tests will be happening this and next week.

This is all part of a county-wide communications test to make sure everything is working properly. so Starting tomorrow in the shelter cove district, the first siren located adjacent to the sewer plant will be tested. the following week on Wednesday, March 28th between 11 am and noon, the eureka siren will be tested and as these tests require no action, it could be a good time to figure out what you would during a real tsunami.

AGAIN, do not be alarmed if you hear the siren on either of these days there’s no need to take any action or call 911. weather permitting, there will be a civil air patrol plane flying along the coast, which will be relaying a phone number over a loudspeaker to record how many people notice the plane and call in.
