CRESCENT CITY- Local officials in Del Norte County are asking for help in the weeks long disruption of our signal on the Spectrum cable system. Spectrum has pulled our signal, and refuses to talk to us about returning our programming to its customers.

We’ve reached out, but Spectrum seems to be ignoring us and its customers. The owner of our stations, Northwest Broadcasting, has asked the cable giant to discuss an increase in what Spectrum pays to carry our signals but so far, they’ve said nothing.

Now, the leaders of some cities are taking action — asking the state to step in. That’s according to Crescent City Mayor Blake Inscore.

“This is a state issue now the local franchise agreement we don’t have any real leverage here locally even though we have a franchise agreement but it’s controlled by the state so we reached out. I just sent off six letters yesterday.”

Even though Spectrum had revenues of $41-billion last year, it apparently hasn’t offered any rate cut or rebates to customers for not carrying our channels.
