Rescue group concerned after Arcata rancher is arrested on animal cruelty charges

FORTUNA., Ca (KIEM)- Earlier in the week, we brought you the story of a local rancher, Ray Christie, who was arrested for animal cruelty along with other violations. Christie was released several hours later from jail after posting 25 thousand dollars in bail.

Shannon Miranda who has a long history with Christie told us he once respected him, saying that he was using his property to provide a home and feeding these animals, but after a few years, Miranda says that couldn’t be farther from the truth, and feels Christie will continue to abuse animals until he’s held accountable

Ray Christie is due in court on April 20^th.
