Two teens injured in crash down steep embankment near Rio Dell

RIO DELL, CA. – A solo vehicle crash near Rio Dell injures two teens.

At around 7:00 Wednesday evening, a vehicle for unknown reasons went off Monument Drive and down a 400 foot embankment.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old boy was able to climb to Bear River Ridge Road, where he called 911.

The other victim, a 17-year-old girl, was also rescued.

California Highway Patrol and Rio Dell Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash site.

The teens were transported to Redwood Memorial Hospital for treatment.
