Arcata High students advance in statewide ‘Student Voices Campaign’ video competition

ARCATA, CA. – Arcata High school students in a statewide creative contest are moving forward.

Two teams from Arcata High were selected as finalists in what is called the “Student Voices Campaign”.

They created videos (which can be seen here and here), intended to answer the question, “Why do the arts matter?”

Out of 50 videos entered from across California – these local students have made it into the top 14 final groups selected by judges.

A final screening and award ceremony to announce the winners is scheduled for April 7 in Oakland, where students, teachers, parents and friends will gather in support.

Recently appointed as the director of the California Arts Council, Anne Bown-Crawford of Arcata will also be in attendance.
