Eureka man arrested for heroin

EUREKA – A month-long investigation, a search warrant and a fake seat in a car lead to the arrest of a Eureka man. Tuesday morning, Humboldt County Drug Task Force agents, sheriff’s deputies, and district attorney investigators, served a search warrant at two homes.

During a search of the first home, and vehicle, in the two-thousandth block of Spring Street in Eureka, agents located about three and a half pounds of heroin. Agents say it was in a hidden compartment in a vehicle at the home. Inside the home, they found digital scales and packaging materials.

They arrested 21-year old Oscar Andres-Carranza. Tuesday night, the Eureka man faced several charges, including possession for sale of heroin, transporting heroin, and use of a fake compartment in a vehicle.
