Blue Lake Rancheria announces new solar panels, and micro-grid are on the way

BLUE LAKE., Ca (KIEM)-It was fitting that the sun was shining today in Blue Lake and for the community, they plan to take advantage of the sun’s rays.

A solar groundbreaking ceremony was held this afternoon, to celebrate the addition of new solar panels, and a micro-grid, next to the blue lake casino.

They say the neighboring gas station will be the optimal spot to capture the solar energy, store it, and use it to reduce carbon emissions.

They also hope the one-point-five million dollar project will produce energy in case of an emergency and eventually be used as an electric vehicle charging station.
