Forest fire burning near Hyampom

northern-california-fire-updateHYAMPOM- A controlled burn is now a 100 acre forest fire northwest of Hyampom. Six Rivers National Forest was conducting a controlled burn Tuesday when the fire spread into the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.

Crews are on the scene fighting the blaze by both the ground and air.

A spokesman for the forest service told us it shows just how much dry fuel there is from vegetation.

The fire is still burning in the prescribed burn area. No structures are threatened at this time.
