ORICK., Ca (KIEM)-A new partnership is formed to fast-track the regrowth of the redwood forest. They call it Redwood Rising. And it’s a collaborative effort between the Save the Redwoods League, National Park Service” and California State Parks to remove the unused logging roads and spread out the young redwood trees. So those years down the road the ecosystem will thrive naturally.

Today, a ceremony was held in Orick. Our reporter Dru Miller was there and tells us what’s to come.

The public will have the opportunity to comment or suggest other ideas to the proposed project, to support our public lands and keep our forests growing for centuries to come.
