“Worker’s Memorial Day” Celebrates California’s Fallen Providers

Sacramento, Ca., (KIEM)- Today California governor Ed Brown has issued a proclamation, today is Worker’s Memorial Day.

In a statement released this morning brown says we appropriately set aside time to celebrate the men and women who have laid their lives down in military service.

Today is about honoring those who lost their lives providing for the heartland in the course of their jobs, appreciating the sacrifices made by people who’ve died growing food and catching fish, building dams and maintaining roads.

In California 376 workers died on the job in 20-16 alone.
