Night Construction Scheduled in Eureka

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- A water main is set to be replaced over the course of two nights along Harris and Harrison streets in Eureka. The work will require traffic control with detours around the road closures. This will effect north and west bound traffic along the intersection in particular.

The work is scheduled to begin Monday night at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 6:00 a.m. The pipes are set to be removed then. The closures will continue at the same times the following night as final paving is completed.

A statement from the City of Eureka says, “[The city] realizes that this disruption is an inconvenience, but repairing and maintaining our sewer collection systems is vital to the health and safety of our residents.”
