APD: Email threat to Arcata School District was a hoax

ARCATA- Arcata Police were notified of an email threat that was sent to the Arcata School District just before six Monday evening.

The police department worked quickly with the school district and contacted the FBI regarding the threat.

It was later determined, the email was a hoax, originating from outside of the Humboldt County area.

The school district appears to be the only North Coast school to receive the email.

The Arcata Police department takes all threats of violence against schools very seriously. They remind everyone, if you see something, say something.
