Humboldt Animal Rescue Team: Mother’s Day Fundraiser

What better way to spend Mother’s Day weekend than with kittens, cookies, and plants? Humboldt Animal Rescue Team, or HART, will be holding an adoption event this weekend.

They’re an organization that gives a second chance to Humboldt County’s homeless animals, and they’re raising money to take care of those animals through a plant and bake sale, happening through Sunday from 12 pm-3 pm.

The Mother’s Day fundraiser will also have cats (of all ages) up for adoption. Vice president of HART, Amanda Auston, says that some of these furry friends have been there for over a year, and they’ve just yet to find the “purr-fect” loving home. Auston says it just takes one cat to steal your heart and turn you into a so-called “cat person”.

Auston says that the hardest part of keeping up with the organization is making sure they have the funding necessary to keep their mission going. They’re hoping this weekend’s event will do just that.
