California Highway Patrol breaks down Memorial Day statistics

California Highway Patrol officers were out in full force for the holiday weekend. Maximum enforcement period started Friday night at 6 p.m and extended through midnight Monday.

We’re told that both collisions and DUI arrest were down from last year during Memorial Day weekend. CHP’s, Paul Craft, tells us that last year during the same time six DUI arrests were made. However, this year in the Humboldt area, there were four. There were a total of eight collisions this year, one of which resulted in an injury. Last year there were 12 traffic collisions, with four injuries.
