California state split to appear on November Election ballots

CALIFORNIA (KIEM) – A milestone is met for groups wanting to split California into three different states.

The Secretary of State says that ambitious plan will be on the November General Election ballot.

The states would be Northern California, Southern California, and the area around Los Angeles, called California.

Those backing the idea say it could mean lower taxes for residents of each area.

Others predict the split itself, and dividing the state into three different bureaucracies, could cost billions.
