EUREKA – Local health officials are on alert tonight due to a bird that’s tested positive for the West Nile Virus. A crow with West Nile has been found in Humboldt County, and as redwood news reporter Leon Purvis tells us that’s raising concerns.

You try to mosquito-proof your house, make sure there’s no standing water in pots, gutters, tires, bird baths or pet bowls. And replace window and door screens that have holes in them.
