Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- Since the National Retail Federation started collecting statistics in 2003, Americans have never spent this much money on father’s day before.

The NRF estimates a record breaking $15.3 billion were spent on dad this year. About 77% of Americans celebrate Father’s Day.

The average amount they shell out per person is a $133. If you’re between 25 and 35 years old you may be in the biggest bracket of spenders. The survey also says, the top place to shop for the special man in your life, is actually in a department store.
