Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- A local icon moves to greener pastures tonight.

As the community mourns the death of “Daniel, the World’s Tallest Cow.”

Daniel was actually a steer; this Easter Lost Coast Hay celebrated his 8th birthday with a pasture party. The very tall Holstein was 6 four and weighed over 2,000 lbs. He once stayed for a stint at the Sequoia Park Zoo, earning new admirers.  He received international media attention from publications like the Daily Mail. Though he was celebrated by many around the world, he’s sure to be missed most of all on the North Coast.
