Efforts to Fight 8 Acre Fire in Shasta-Trinity National Forest Continue Overnight

Shasta-Trinity National Forest, (KIEM)- Crews continue to monitor the status of a wildfire in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest tonight, where the Silver Fire is active. Recent reports indicate, the Silver Fire had grown to about eight acres in size by Saturday night (According to estimates from the forest service from the air).

Smoke jumpers have been deployed to know down the flames, reportedly south east of Ruth Lake. The small blaze on south fork mountain was manned overnight by the Shasta Lake Hotshot crew, seven smoke jumpers and four repellers. All aircraft were grounded over-night.
