Sequoia Park Zoo Announces Funding for Redwood Canopy Walk

The Sequoia Park Zoo held a press conference today to officially announce the funding for the long-awaited, “Redwood Canopy Walk.” They believe this will be a game changer for Humboldt’s economy.

For part of the project, they received a State grant, but the majority of the funding came from the local lodging alliances, which include the Humboldt, Eureka, and Arcata Lodging Alliances. Together, funders donated a total of $2.2 million, and $1.7 million of that comes from the lodging alliances.

The suspended bridge canopy walk will allow the public to get up about 100 feet in the air and experience what the redwoods look like from a birds-eye perspective.
