Reaching for the Skies: Local Teens Treated to Time in the City of Angels

McKinleyville, Ca., (KIEM)- As the Eureka-Arcata airport launches brand new direct flights to Los Angeles, Unites airlines invited 13 outstanding middle and high school students on one of their first trips to LAX.

The students were nominated by their schools to act as ambassadors. They toured the city of stars. Touring the international airport, they learned about potential job opportunities. They were then treated to a walking tour of the city, and a dessert cruise. Later they would swing by Sony Pictures, seeing sets and learning about major productions.

The students say they were excited to connect with a city that previously felt far away. Service to LAX started up on June 7, 2018. The airport provides connections and direct flights through San Francisco.
