Microchip Your Pets Before Independence Day Fireworks

With Independence Day less than a week away, the loud boom of fireworks might cause your animals to run away.

Animals are much more attune to noise, so what we hear at a normal level is escalated to them. And when fireworks go off, their gut reaction is to bolt.

The Sequoia Humane society sees an influx of dogs and cats during the Fourth of July, so they strongly suggest getting your pets micro-chipped beforehand.

The procedure is quick and can be done within five minutes and the chip is only the size of a grain of rice. Once the chip is in, it’s much easier to locate your missing pet.

Getting your animal micro-chipped at Sequoia Humane is $25, no appointment is needed.
