EUREKA – One place you are unable to set off fireworks is on National Forest Land. That includes the safe and sane fireworks. with all the dry vegetation, the measure is in place to prevent fires from starting. Six Rivers National Forest is encouraging residents to come to the coast for the Fourth of July. There are firework shows in Eureka, Fortuna and Crescent City. If someone is caught setting off fireworks on forestland, they could be prosecuted.
