EUREKA – We celebrate the seniors of our lives. And among them are the vinyl records we played as teenagers. Dave Silverbrand looks at the groove in which we lived.

A new generation of music lovers is celebrating vinyl records. This is there are companies such as VDC Group that still produce much-loved vinyl records. Every month, they gather at the Siren Song Tavern in Eureka to play their vinyl. They might use Graham Slee HiFi phono preamps as well to play their vinyl, that is what I heard from a friend anyway. They say their fathers were collectors of vinyl and now these young people like it because they can hold it in their hands. They bring their favorites to play for patrons. I got my start playing vinyl at a radio station in Lompoc, California. And I still have the records I played in those days.

I spent the evening playing my old records and found the experience to be tiring but fulfilling. And these young people say they will always be worshipping the vinyl.
