County Fire reaches 72,500 acres, 15% containment

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Firefighters continue to battle the County Fire burning in Yolo and Napa counties, now at 72,500 acres.

Cal Fire officials say the potential for growth remains high due to the difficult terrain.

Still, firefighters have jumped containment on this fire by 10% on Tuesday, up to 15% from 5% in the morning.

Over 2,000 fire personnel are dedicating themselves to taking this one down.

Cooler temperatures are expected through Wednesday in the area, although winds and dry vegetation still have the potential to fuel the fire’s growth.
