Oregon man sustains major injuries in crash near Big Lagoon

BIG LAGOON- A Portland, Oregon man sustains major injuries after he is struck by a vehicle near Big Lagoon.

Just after 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, Jeffrey Holiman stopped to retrieve his surfboard that fell out of a Nissan truck on the shoulder of northbound 101.

The driver of a  Honda sedan, Claude Grey of Coquille, Oregon slowed down but wasn’t able to avoid hitting Holiman. He rolled onto the hood of the car and struck the windshield.

Holiman was taken to St. Joseph hospital for his injuries. His eight year-old son and a passenger were uninjured.
