Fortuna Police close investigation into death of Serbian woman

FORTUNA, Calif. (KIEM) – The Fortuna Police Department’s investigation into the death of 24-year-old Dragana Solaja of Serbia is closed.

On April 11th, Solaja died after being found on a porch in Fortuna, and taken to the hospital.

Fortuna Police launched an investigation into the seemingly suspicious circumstances, but received toxicology results on Friday, and did not conclude the cause to be homicide.

The death is believed to be related to use of meth.

Fortuna police are closing the investigation, as they have found no evidence of foul play.

A GoFundMe page to transport the Serbian woman’s remains back to her family raised nearly $30,000.
