Candidates for Arcata City Council can be nominated now

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM)- Two Arcata City Council seats will be up for grabs in the 2018 general election. Registered voters will have the chance to hit the polls on November 6, but ahead of that fateful Tuesday, The City of Arcata is encouraging locals to step up and run for the seats. Nomination papers are available now at City Hall.
So what are the requirements for candidacy? You must be at least 18-years-old, and a registered voter. You must be able to prove that you are an Arcata resident. Identification must be provided when you pick up nomination papers. You’ll also need at least 20, but no more than 30, signatures to complete your registration. Then the forms are due by August 10.
