Caltrans to hold Last Chance Grade open house on Thurdsay

DEL NORTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – A four mile stretch of Highway 101 in Del Norte County remains unstable, and a long-term fix for the so-called Last Chance Grade continues to be a top priority for the California Department of Trasnporation.

Stretching from Wilson Creek, to nine miles south of Crescent City, Last Chance Grade is ‘known for landslide activity and high maintenance costs’.

That is why the CalTrans District 1 is inviting the public to learn more, and weigh in on the project at a public house this Thursday.

The public is invited to join project workers Thursday evening from 6:30PM to 8:00PM at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds in Crescent City.

The event will include project updates, and a question and answer segment.

You can find out more about the project at www.LastChanceGrade.com.
