Humboldt Bay Fire extinguishes vegetation fire in Eureka

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Humboldt Bay Fire crews were called to a vegetation fire on Friday in Eureka.

According to Fire Captain Brett Banducci, the fire grew to just five by five feet.

It sparked south of the Slough Bridge at around 9:00PM.

The Captain tells us the cause of the fire may have been transient activity.

Thanks to firefighters’ quick work, the fire was put out within minutes.
