Water precautions remain inplace for Yurok Tribe

KLAMATH – Unable to ensure drinking water is safe, the Yurok tribe continues to take measures. They are asking for residents to boil their water before using.

This is a result of the tribe not having the resources to properly monitor their treatment plant.

While recent tests have shown no presence of Ecoli, these tests are only done once a month. The tribe in the meantime is developing a plan to improve oversight of the treatment facilities. For now, it’s all about safety.

The tribe will address the issue at a meeting Wednesday July 25th at their Weitchpec office located on Highway 96.
