Eureka City Hall honors fallen fire fighters

Eureka., Ca- It seems only a few days since you spoke with the fire departments locally about the death of Braden Varney, the bulldozer operator killed by the Ferguson Fire. Tonight, it’s another memorial. Jeremy stoke was killed while battling the Carr Fire last Thursday.

Those who knew strokes say he was a good man who would donate to the Wings of Angels organization often. The news spread very quickly and this morning Humboldt Bay Fire and the City of Eureka lowed their flags to half-staff in honor of the Redding firefighter.

Another bulldozer operator, who worked for a private company under contract with Cal Fire, was also killed. His name was not immediately available.
