Carr Fire rages on 11 days later, destroying at least 1,070 homes, threatening 1,358 more

SHASTA, TRINITY COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – The Carr Fire continues to challenge firefighters, now in its 11th day.

As of Friday night, the Carr Fire is 39% contained, and flames have spread over 133,924 acres.

Stealing six lives, the inferno has destroyed entire neighborhoods, with an estimated 1,070 homes burned to ash.

Shasta College, Cross Point Community Church, Foothill High School, and Trinity High School are all still active Carr Fire evacuee shelters.

The Shasta County Environmental Health division is also offering resources to those impacted.
