California Senator Mike McGuire speaks on California Wildfires

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) It’s been weeks and fire crews continue to battle the massive Northern California wildfires.

Thousands of people are displaced and acres of property destroyed. California Senator Mike McGuire said the state is under a fiery attack but says with the help of others Northern California will prevail.

“California is stretched, which is why we are pulling out of the federal system as well as the International Mutual Aid System.  Sixteen different states have been assisting California, we are seeing firefighters from as far away as Florida coming into the state. We’re seeing hundreds of additional firefighters that have been dispatched from states across the West-central part of America, as well as the east coast coming in to be able to assist with these devastating wild land fires,” said Senator, Mike McGuire.
