Del Norte County election recall won’t happen in November

EUREKA – A recall for three Del Norte County Supervisors will not be on the November ballot.

A few months ago, former Del Norte County Cannabis Working Group Chair Jesse Davis started an effort to recall the election of District One Supervisor Rodger Gitlin and District Five Supervisor Bob Berkowitz. There’s also an effort to remove District Two Supervisor Lori Cowan.

The recall won’t be on the November ballot because of the timeline. The over 500 signatures for each supervisor was not met. To move forward, supervisors would also have to approve a special election. It would cost Del Norte tax payers around $25,000 for each supervisor.
