Garberville business owners worry about the economy

Business owners in Garberville are worrying about the future of their business. And today we spoke to former Owner of King Range Books who had to shut down his business after seven years.

Owner of the book store, Evan King, tells us he saw a dramatic drop in sales and foot traffic in the area compared to previous years. He had no choice, but to shut down his business at the top of July.

King tells us many business owners are fighting to hold on. He believes the shutdown of his business was largely due to the legalization of marijuana and a decrease in tourism. He now describes Garberville as a “ghost town.”
