Caltrans opens limited parts of State Route 299

REDDING – After the Carr Fire closed State Route 299, the roadway between Weaverville and Redding is now open on a limited basis.

Motorists can drive on the highway between Trinity Dam Boulevard and JF Kennedy Memorial Road from noon to 1:30 pm, and 6:00 pm to 5:00 am daily. The highway will remain closed during all other times.

One-way traffic control operations will be in place. Motorists are to follow a pilot cars, slow down, and follow directions.

Caltrans told us that you should not arrive more than 15 minutes early to traffic control, they said early arrivals will be turned back.

Motorists are advised of possible significant delays, and the schedule is subject to change.
