Autopsy results show collision caused death of 18-year-old found on Highway 101

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Autopsy results are in for a young man found dead on a Eureka roadway.

18-year-old Hunter Allen’s death is now being attributed to a hit-and-run crash.

Allen was discovered deceased in the early hours of Wednesday, August 1st, in the northbound lane of Highway 101, just south of the Humboldt Hill road exit.

Sheriff’s deputies deemed Allen’s death was suspicious.

Autopsy results reveal Allen’s cause of death was consistent with a car collision.

The Humboldt Area California Highway Patrol is now leading the investigation, and is asking for the public’s help.
