Somoa., Ca (KIEM)- There are a lot of ways the community can come together to keep their city clean and in some cases make a profit, but one group of volunteers have used every Saturday since 2014 to do the work that most people tend to avoid.
The Pac Out Green team spent this morning in the Samoa area picking up rubber, plastic and even a washer.
The group frequently visits highway 255 and Vance avenue, they say it’s a notorious drop off area. Recently the group has installed a camera to help police identify offenders, but for one dedicated volunteer, being seen filling bags of trash is her way of making a difference.
Eureka Recycling Center and Humboldt Waste Management Authority accepts all types of recycling material and in some cases will pay you for certain items.
