Fortuna, Ca., (KIEM) One stroke and one color at a time. Painter, Dakota Daetwiler, makes detailed masterpieces.

“Painting is my heart. Painting is everything to me.”

And today she uses her love for painting as a tool for helping those impacted by the California Wildfires. Working out of the living room of her home, the artist shared, that she understands what it’s like to lose everything.

”I lost my business in 2015, it was just horrible.”

Now she does what she can to help others. If not with money, definitely with art.

Dakota Daetwiler will go live Monday (Aug 13) at 7pm to finish up the firefighter painting at: Paintings by Dakota Daetwiler. There will be a link for the community to purchase prints. All proceeds will go to Cal Fire and the original painting will go to The Fortuna Volunteer Fired Department.
