Highway 299 open hours extended, one-way controlled traffic to start Thursday

REDDING, Calif. (KIEM) – Highway 299 open hours will be extended on Wednesday morning, and will be open to one-way controlled traffic come Thursday. The roadway has been closed, with some limited openings since the start of the Carr Fire.

Caltrans District 2 shared these details on their Facebook pageĀ on Tuesday:

SR 299 between Redding to Weaverville Day by Day:

Tuesday — Open with traffic control from 6 p.m. to Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m.Ā 
Wednesday — Closed from 7:30 a.m. to Noon
Wednesday — Open with traffic control from Noon to 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday — Closed from 1:30 p.m.to 6 p.m.
Wednesday — Open with traffic control from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning
Thursday — Open to all traffic 24/7 with POSSIBLE delays and traffic control for restoration activities between 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Caltrans asks that you please slow down in work zones, and heed to directions from traffic controllers.
