Mill Creek Fires merge overnight

Hoopa, Ca., (KIEM)- The Northern and Souther Mill Creek 1 Fires have merged, as of about 11:00 a.m. Sunday. The fires are more than 1,00 acres in size. Nine engines, three dozers, one helicopter and support, field and medical staff are on sight, striving for containment. Engines from Arizona, Florida, and Idaho are all heading to the Hoopa Valley Reservation to help the 160 people already on sight.

So far, there are still no evacuation orders in place. A Type 2 Incident Management Command Team will assume command of the incident at 6:00 a.m. Monday morning.
