College of the Redwoods offering free tuition

In early March College of the Redwoods launched a program, which offers free tuition to qualifying students. And on the first day of school, the institution has already seen a spike in enrollments.

Marty Coelho with CR, tells us the program is only eligible for first time college students. They must take 12 or more units and live in California. This free tuition will be offered for the fall and spring semesters.

Whether there’s subsequent budget money for the next academic year is still unknown — so, Coelho encourages students to take advantage of the program while it exists.
