Board of directors with the Rural County Representatives of California, or RCRC, and the National Homebuyers Fund, or NHF, voted to fund $400,000 worth of laptops to transitional aged youth with RCRC’s 35 member counties.

Only five percent of rural foster youth have consistent access to a computer at home. Justin Caporusso, with RCRC, says 1200 laptops will be given out statewide and this week around 80 gifted laptops will be distributed to local foster youth and former foster youth; ages 16 to 21.

Caporusso tells us these laptops will be fully integrated into IFoster’s resource portal, providing them access to more than 500 needed resources.
