Felon arrested with help from community

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s department arrested a wanted felon Thursday morning at 9:45 a.m. in the area of Miranda Market, all thanks to tips from the community. 40-year old Dennis Earl Hicks Jr. of Philippeville has been wanted by law enforcement since May.

Hicks was booked into the correctional facility, after being served two warrants for vehicle theft and driving with a suspended license with failure to provide evidence of financial responsibility for the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office recognizes the importance of working with the community and would like to thank Southern Humboldt residents who helped spot Hicks.
